- Also called
- provider of public youth welfare (local)
Under section 69 SGB VIII, the providers of public youth welfare are determined by state law; for carrying out the tasks under the SGB VIII, each local provider sets up a youth welfare office (Jugendamt). [1] In autism, the youth welfare office plays a role mainly in integration assistance under section 35a SGB VIII for children and adolescents whose mental health deviates, with high probability for longer than six months, from the condition appropriate to their age and whose participation is therefore impaired or is likely to be impaired. For this, the provider of public youth welfare obtains the opinion of a professional named in section 35a. [2] How responsibilities are delimited from integration assistance under SGB IX is a question for the individual case.
